Holiday Horror Guide #1–Don’t Open ’til Christmas

Released the same year as the infamous SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT, this 1984 slasher reverses the killer-Santa formula as a deranged killer prowls the streets of London slaughtering Saint Nicks. The sole directorial outing of Edmund Purdom, the late character actor abandoned the project before it was completed, leaving journeymen Derek Ford and–later, after he was fired–Ray Selfe to pick up the pieces. As disjointed a movie with three directors as you’d expect, it manages to (briefly) redeem itself with a Caroline Munro cameo.
