160,000 Words

The year and spare change in which I wrote 365 Days of the Dead served two purposes: it was an attempt to gain a readership for my work as I submitted to the harder-to-crack markets at the pro level, as well as hardwiring a much-needed sense of discipline into my work routine. I’ve been thinking a lot about the blog recently, and when morbid curiosity got the better of me I pulled up the archives and did a quick word count.

160,000 words. Roughly the equivalent of two mass market paperback novels. Holy. Crap.

Proving–to me, at least–that the best writing advice I’ve ever been given was: Ass in Chair.
